Escape from the City
I hereby inaugurate the ”Generous Word Campaign”
I have never believed the grass is greener; in fact I don’t look at other people’s lawns. I’m happy with my own lawn, not because it’s perfect but because I own it and have the power to change it (if need be).
This mentality translates directly into how I am with people and I would go on record to say that I am very generous with compliments. I also give them as I think of them (literally). For example, today I was in a telepresence meeting with our Business Development Director and in the middle of it I busted out with “I love your suit”. I cannot hold the compliments in but I am always amazed when people do.You know exactly the type I mean. Think about when you get decked and meet up with friends- you KNOW you look great and yet no one says a word- not even a measly “I like your dress”. That my friends is not indifference, it’s jealousy and jealousy is the root of all evil.
So the next time you see someone who looks great- tell them. Breaking news, a compliment is free of charge and it will make you feel as good to give it, as it makes the person feel who is receiving it- something to the tune of a million bucks.
When Bad Clothes Happen to Good People
Let’s be honest, we have all flipped through a celebrity magazine and thought what was she thinking?! But the truth is, we have all had a fashion victim moment one time or another. That can mean you took a chance on a risky clothing option or you chose something that just doesn’t work on YOU. Establishing your own sense of style first starts with examining who you are. In life, it IS often about judging a book by its cover because when you walk the streets of wherever you live or walk into a conference room to present to a room full of strangers, no one knows you- at least not yet, they only know what they see. That’s why style matters. So that’s when you have to ask yourself what it is you want people to think of when they see you. What kind of style impression do you make? Is it for example, glamour, prep, goth, sophisticate, grunge, bohemian luxe or eclectic chic? Whichever you choose, you have to then factor it into the lifestyle you have or at least the one you aspire So when people wear something that just doesn’t work, I automatically think either someone steered them in the wrong direction (a friend, salesperson, stylist) or they just didn’t consider that one style does not fit all. I often say; Dress for the job you want, not the job you have and there is a lot of merit to that mentality. Fashion gives you the tools to fake it til you make it, so your personal style is actually more powerful than you think.
The Ducks Are Running Amuck I have no problem pretending that I am super organized but the truth is that I am only organized in my head. Please note that I use organized loosely here. It’s more of a ”mad scientist” organized; whereby the desk looks like It was robbed (Bedroom side table shown above ). Im the girl that thinks a truly busy person cant be neat. I know- that is a TOTAL generalization but truly, I can’t be neat. Breaking News: the ducks are not in a row. They’re just not. But somehow through the madness (busy day) I manage to prioritize what needs to happen first without truly focusing on the manner at which things get done. I am not recommending this to anyone, all Im saying is dont judge a desk by its chaos. What can I say? My ducks are jet setters. You‘ll find them Uptown, Downtown, Eastside, Westside. They dont line up, they never have. But, at the end of the day, they all come quacking home.
To Whom It May Concern:
When you were born your parents gave you a name. You learned this name, how to say and spell it. You colored it with crayons. You wrote on a paper over and over again when you were learning penmanship. You typed it thousands upon thousands into a computer. You chose an email address using parts or all of it. You corrected people if they pronounced it incorrectly and still do…
So remember this when it comes to someone else’s . They feel the same way about their name that you do about yours.
When addressing someone in an email or letter, do the research, find the name. Otherwise it really won’t be their concern.

LOVE JAPAN
NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT
Ok this is not a plug for deodorant, but a very simple way of saying never let anyone see you sweat “emotionally”.
Sometimes I swear there are bees swirling around my head. This is figurative of course, but the bees represent all the projects I am working on that need attention in equal priority… NOW, URGENTLY, IMMEDIATELY, YESTERDAY.
We all find ourselves in this cesspool of constant and utter work chaos and it’s a wonder we get anything at all done. I often joke that I need a To-Do List just to remember to make the To-Do List. Once I’ve made it, I inevitably add something to it I have already done, just so I have the satisfaction of crossing it off, I know I am not alone-
So do you keep it together without having your head spin like the exorcist in front of your boss? friends or even your family?
You fake it till you make it.
Emotion is distracting.
I was once been in this situation where I can’t control my emotion at my workplace and just broke down into tears. Believe me, the last thing your boss wants to see is weakness.
So what does fake it till you make it mean? It means no matter what, keep it cool. Go with the flow. Scream inside you head. If you can’t do that find a space outside and regroup for clarity, but never ever let them see you lose it.
A wiseman once told me that 90% of the things we worry about, never happen.
That’s why I don’t worry.

“Zi French Spotlight”
Just last night, I was invited to witness the launching of the latest fad in the Metro-Sofitel’s FEVER. The establishment promotes itself as a “luxe lounge”, it has a contemporary, rich and luxurious space with a touch of prolific French design. A desirable/ ideal place to host those lavish private parties.
Its not easy to impress in Manila. To create a bar that stands out and surprises, that can formulate a positive buzz that lasts more than a night, is a serious challenge.
Well i must say Sofitel’s Fever has potential. See for yourself…prepare a thermometer, ‘cos its going to be hotter than 37 degrees!
